Podcast episode 1 - Introductions and a super wash disaster…
As you might or might not know, Studio Nora has it’s own YouTube channel. And now, Studio Nora also has a podcast!
I have been intrigued by Youtube for a while. As a consumer I love watching content related to my hobbies, and I also follow content creators that have nothing to do with my hobbies. As a creator, YouTube has always been a scary space to me. I’ve dabbled with it, exactly twice. One time I’ve made a little video about the proces of knitting, and I have published my Christmas song on the channel.
The content that I consume the most are knitting and crafting podcasts. I love having one on while I am knitting or sewing myself, it is like having a knitting date with a friend. It so happens that I do not have any knitting friends myself, and I am far too awkward to engage with knitters and crafters on Instagram or YouTube.
So, I have taken it upon myself to speak awkwardly into a camera about my knitting and sewing. Basically, there is not much difference between this, and teaching my pupils over zoom/teams; neither options talks back to me - which is both a blessing and a curse…
My plan is to record an episode every few weeks, since I’m not a very fast knitter, and I try to be conscious that I am actually producing things that are of use and value to me. I have really enjoyed editing this podcast, and I plan to shoot some ‘b-role’ for the next episode, to up the quality a little bit.
All and all, a very exciting development, and I’m interested to see where it takes me!
